There are plenty of Hotels and resorts in Munnar. Munnar Hotels cost more compared to other places in the High Range area. Budget Hotels in Munnar

British-era stone bungalow nestled in the middle of tea gardens high on the hillside above Munnar. Its flower-filled front terrace has magnificent views across the town to Anamudi. The rooms themselves lack outlook and are basic and gloomy. This is somewhere you would stay for the atmosphere but not for the comfort.

Nice and clean rooms. The rooms have wood-panelled walls. There are fine views around the cottage.

Clean and friendly guest house. There are rooms of various sizes. A tiny double room on the rooftop has big windows and hill views. It is run by an enthusiastic and competent team. They conduct guided day treks.

Mid-range Hotels in Munnar

Royal Retreat

Pleasant and efficiently run motel on the roadside at the south end of town. Go for one of its "super-deluxe" rooms. They are south facing and have brick fireplaces and cane furniture. In the front of these rooms you could see a cheerful little flower garden.

Olive Brook

Delightfully old-fashioned homestay. It is in the thick of a cardamom estate on a hillside overlooking the southern edge of Munnar. Five rooms are spread over two blocks, all with wonderful views.

The home cooked food is excellent. Rate includes full board, cookery classes, trekking, evening barbecues and campfire.

A big red block on the southern edge of the town. It is not much to look at from the outside, but the interiors boast wood floors and traditional carved wall panels. Some rooms are much darker than the others. A dependable mid-range choice.

High Range Club

This old Raj-era club was founded by local British planters in 1905. Colonial ambience has been faded. Now the turbaned bearers politely greet you in the lounges filled with 1940's furniture and hunting trophies.

You can play billiards and tennis here and even enjoy a round of golf on the nine-hole course. The club's guest wing holds three kinds of rooms and cottages varying in size and comfort.

Government Guesthouse

On the far side of the river this former British bungalow stands in its own grounds looking across the valley. It has just six rooms lined up in an annex just above the main reception and dining room area. They are large and old-fashioned and lack outside space but the bathrooms are big. Meals are by arrangement.

This is a new property run by Tourist desk in Kochi. The property is on a ridge enjoying a vast valley view. There are four simply furnished rooms. They are clean and comfortable enough.

The real attraction here is sitting on the terrace. There is nothing to disturb you here other than the sounds of the birds and wind in the trees.

A holiday hotel on the top of the hill. Hotel is in a nice location and a very good place for honeymoon.

Luxury Hotels in Munnar

Alpine-style chalet lodges perched high on a hilltop above the town. It is in the middle of cardamom and tea groves with glorious views over the Chithirapuram valley. The most posh address in Munnar town. This government run resort offering a range of luxurious chalet-style rooms and suites stacked along a hill top. There is good multi-cuisine restaurant and beer parlour.

Like many upmarket Munnar hotels, this is a restored former tea bungalow. This boutique homestay boast spectacular views. It has light, varnished wood interiors and designer furniture and top-class service. French windows open on to well-kept lawns, where you can dine on the finest locally sourced food.

Half a dozen spacious luxury tents fitted with quality beds and bathrooms. The camp faces a magnificent panorama of mountain peaks.
